Formally established in France in 1880, Hurtu, Hautin et Diligeon quickly became a leading manufacturer of sewing machines and the principal domestic rival to Singer.
Operating from Paris and Albert, the company earned a strong reputation for exceptional precision and durability.
In 1895, partner E. Diligeon bought out the firm, yet the respected Hurtu brand name was retained.
Today, Hurtu & Hautin machines are highly valued by collectors as fine examples of early French industrial craftsmanship.
