Casige was a German company founded by Carl Sieper in Gevelsberg. In 1902, it began making miniature working sewing machines for children. The name Casige comes from Carl Sieper Gevelsberg. Known for their cast-iron construction and colorful designs, Casige toy sewing machines could actually sew a simple chain stitch. Production continued until about 1975, and today these machines are popular collectibles.
