Georg Michael Pfaff (1787–1864) was a German craftsman and entrepreneur who founded Pfaff in 1862 in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Originally trained as a gunsmith, Pfaff applied his precision engineering skills to develop high-quality sewing machines. His early designs quickly gained a reputation for reliability and innovation, laying the foundation for one of the world’s most respected sewing machine manufacturers. The company grew rapidly after his death, becoming a global leader in industrial and household sewing technology.
