La costilla circula por un tambor caliente que la precalienta al tiempo que, mediante una corriente de aire caliente, activa la costilla y la zona encolada para lograr una mayor adherencia de la costilla. Un dispositivo de corte autom\u00e1tico corta la costilla en un lugar exacto y predeterminado, facilitando las siguientes operaciones del proceso de producci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, gracias a su gu\u00eda ajustable podemos variar la distancia de la costilla al borde de la suela, lo que sin duda es el mejor cemento para realizar los siguientes procesos en la producci\u00f3n de Goodyear. El dise\u00f1o de esta m\u00e1quina permite aplicar la costilla tanto en zapatos de punta redonda y fina como en botas vaqueras.
